Ministry of Finance Office- order no 1/2010 on service tax
The government of India confronts and deals with the financial affairs of the country through its ministry of finance. It considers the matters of taxation, central & state finances, union budget, financial legislation, capital markets and financial institutions. The finance ministry of India is presently in the hold of Mr. Arun Jaitley. The finance ministry supervises and administers the following bodies of controlling authority:
Indian revenue services.
Indian economics services.
Indian civil accounts services.
Indian cost accounts services.
There are 5 departments who work under the Finance Ministry of India:
Revenue department
Expenditure department
Economic affairs department
Disinvestments department

G.S.R. (E). – In the exercise of the then powers conferred upon by sub-section (1) of section 95 of the Finance Act, 1994 (32 of 1994) (hereinafter referred to as the Finance Act), the Central Government, hereby makes the following order, namely:
The above-mentioned order may be called as service tax order or removal of difficulty order, 2010
The above-mentioned order shall be enforced on the 1 st day of the month of July in 2010.
For the objectives of sub-clauses (zzh) and (zzq) of sub-section (105) of section 65 of the Finance Act, the phrase ‘authority competent’ includes, besides any authority of the government:
i. An architect, who is in registration with the council of architecture embodied under the Architects act, 1972 (20 of 1972); or
ii. A chartered, who is in registration with the engineers’ institution of India; or
iii. A sanctioned surveyor of the respective town, city, village, local body or planning or development power.
One who is legitimized under any statute for the time being in force, in order to sanction a completion certificate with respect to commercial or industrial or residential complex, as a proviso for its profession.
